Third baseman Eric Munson lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 4 RBI as
the Detroit Iron Gloves outscored the Dyersville Jurassics 8 to 2.
In the 4th inning Detroit went on top for good when they tallied 3 runs on 5
hits. The big moment was provided by Munson who brought a roar from the
partisan the ballpark fans when he slapped a one-base hit scoring two
baserunners. Overall Detroit out-hit Dyersville 16 to 9.
The victory went to John Lackey(9-10) who went 8 and 1/3 innings, allowing 2
runs. Paul Byrd(2-3) was charged with the loss. He was not very effective,
surrendering 4 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings.
